Henry Edward Frank
- Transformative Story
From a self-described hopeless state to a leader of his community, Henry is a testament to the therapeutic and community strengthening power of the WJA Prison Arts Program. Henry is an artist, a past participant, and a recipient of the $100,000 Art for Justice Grant.Â
Now, Henry is dedicated to giving back to the community that served as the bedrock of his personal transformation and development. Harnessing the power of art, Henry endeavors to establish a safe space within the carceral system, reflecting the very essence of what WJA aims to offer its participants. By perpetuating the principles that propelled him towards his current path, Henry firmly believes through service to his community, participants can grow and service the world in their own unique way.

We are looking for professional, inspiring, and well-rounded Teaching Artists to instruct weekly classes at various sites throughout California. Artists best suited for a residency with the Prison Arts Project are ones with solid artistic and technical skills along with a unique personal vision demonstrated through original work and presentation.
